Caros Amigos,
Essas palavras de São Paulo personificam Pier Giorgio. Sendo assim, neste ano dedicado a São Paulo, nosso presente para o aniversário de Pier Giorgio não poderia ser outro que não a honra a esse grande Apóstolo, a quem ele amou apaixonadamente. Sua irmã Luciana, no livro “A Fé de Frassati”, testemunhou: “Pier Giorgio sempre levou São Paulo consigo num livro de bolso; foi o São Paulo de que Pier Giorgio copiava reiteradamente as passagens à mão; eram as palavras do Apóstolo da Caridade que ele repetia nas ruas ou lia aos amigos de quarto; foi tal Apóstolo que ele recomendou com entusiasmo como um indiscutível parâmetro para a vida cristã. Não é difícil, portanto, imaginar a alegria que Pier Giorgio sentiria ao receber este presente no seu aniversário: a meditação das cartas de Paulo e nosso compromisso para convencer mais dois amigos a fazerem o mesmo.
Nós tivemos uma graça pelo fato de que o padre Thomas Rosica, CSB, CEO, presidente da “Rede Católica de Televisão Sal e Luz” do Canadá , ter composto uma novena que constitui um verdadeiro itinerário para ação e meditação dos ensinamentos de São Paulo. Começando no da 28 de março, vamos procurar encontrar tempo todos os dias para ler e refletir as epístolas recomendadas pela novena. Vamos pedir ao nosso Amigo Bem-Aventurado para nos ajudar a entender o sentido das cartas, de encontrar o poder de transformar nossas vidas e proclamar que nós queremos viver, e não apenas fingir que vivemos, já que Mihi vivere Christus est.
Vamos pedir a Pier Giorgio que nos ensine a amar com sua força e seu amor; vamos pedir-lhe especialmente, no dia 6 de abril, o seu aniversário, quando nós estivermos todos unidos espiritualmente adorando a Fonte do Amor: a Eucaristia. Nós também poderemos oferecer presentes a Pier Giorgio todos os pequenos gestos que podemos fazer durante a novena. Que ele possa alegremente apresentá-los a Jesus.
