Em 12 outubro de 2006, Carlo Acutis tinha 15 anos de idade e sua vida se apagou por uma agressiva leucemia. O adolescente, oriundo de Milão, comoveu familiares e amigos ao oferecer todos os sofrimentos de sua enfermidade pela Igreja e pelo Papa.

Carlo “era um adolescente de nosso tempo, como muitos outros. Esforçava-se na escola, entre os amigos, era um grande apaixonado por computadores. Ao mesmo tempo era um grande amigo de Jesus Cristo, participava da Eucaristia diariamente e se confiava à Virgem Maria, era devoto do beato Pier Giorgio Frassati – www.piergiorgio.com.br – Depois de sua Primeira Comunhão, nunca faltou à celebração cotidiana da Santa Missa e da reza do Terço, seguidos de um momento de Adoração Eucarística”.
“Com esta intensa vida espiritual, Carlo viveu plena e generosamente seus quinze anos, deixando em quem o conheceu um profundo sinal. Era um adolescente especialista em computadores, lia textos de Engenharia de Informática e deixava a todos estupefatos, mas este dom o colocava a serviço do voluntariado e o utilizava para ajudar seus amigos”.
“Sua grande generosidade o fazia interessar-se por todos: os estrangeiros, os portadores de necessidades especiais, as crianças e os mendigos. Estar próximo a Carlo era esta perto de uma fonte de água fresca”.
Recorda-se claramente que “pouco antes de morrer Carlo ofereceu seus sofrimentos pelo Papa e pela Igreja. Certamente o heroísmo com a qual confrontou sua enfermidade e sua morte convenceram a muitos que verdadeiramente era alguém especial. Quando o doutor que o acompanhava perguntava se sofria muito, Carlo respondeu: ‘Há gente que sofre muito mais que eu!”.
“Fama de santidade”
Dra Francesca Consolini, postuladora para a causa dos Santos da Arquidiocese de Milão, acredita que no caso de Carlo há elementos que poderiam levar a abertura de um processo de beatificação, quando se fizerem cinco anos de sua morte, como o pede a Igreja.
“Sua fé, singular em uma pessoa tão jovem, madura e segura, levava-o a ser sempre sincero consigo mesmo e com os outros. Manifestou uma extraordinária atenção para o próximo: era sensível aos problemas e as situações de seus amigos, os companheiros, as pessoas que viviam perto a ele e quem o encontrava dia a dia”, explicou Consolini.
Carlo Acutis “tinha entendido o verdadeiro valor da vida como dom de Deus, como esforço, como resposta a dar ao Senhor Jesus dia a dia na simplicidade. Queria destacar que era um moço normal, alegre, sereno, sincero, que amava a vida, que gostava da amizade”.
Carlo “tinha compreendido o valor do encontro cotidiano com Jesus na Eucaristia, e era muito amado e procurado por seus companheiros e amigos por sua simpatia e vivacidade”.
“Depois de sua morte muitos sentiram a necessidade de escrever uma própria lembrança dele e outros comentaram que vão pedir sua intercessão em suas orações: isto fez com que sua figura seja vista com particular interesse” e em torno de sua lembrança está se desenvolvendo o que se chama “fama de santidade”. Em 2011 será o quinto aniversário de sua entrada no Paraíso é o momento em que a Igreja de Milão estará abrindo o processo de beatificação.
